KATRINE GROOT
Katrine Groot has just turned 16 years old and a large part of her life has up until now been spend in the dressage arena! When she was little, she would sit still for hours at big horse shows and watch dressage, proclaiming that she wanted to be like that! Despite her young age, she is almost there! Katrine has already extensive experience as a competetive rider and she participated in her first Danish National Championship for small ponies at L-level when she was 10 years old.

Katrine is trained here at Petersborg by Morten Andersen and when it is possible, she goes to the former Danish teamleader Vibeke Degn Andersen for training as well. Katrine is a very dedicated rider, and she has worked consistently with the ponies that she has been offered through the years. Without exception, Katrine has been able to improve the results of all the ponies she has had through good horsemanship and consistent work. When the ponies need a break, we are fortunate to live right by the forrest and then Katrine will take the pony for a nice ride in nature! Katrine enjoys the daily work with the ponies very much but always looking forward to competions as well, since it is in the arena at competitions that she enjoys life the most! Besides dressage, Katrine is a dedicated alpine skiier, she spends time with friends and is very ambitious in school, where she now is in 6th grade.

In 2012, Katrine was elected for the national team competing her 138 cm ponies. This has always been her dream and goal, and getting the opportunity to be part of the national team so early in her career is something Katrine is very humble by and she greatly appreciate this possibility. Katrine's goals for the future are to continue to develop and have a great time with her ponies and her friends in daily training as well as in competitions. Katrine hope to be able to get back on the team. Right now, she is working on educating two new larger ponies. She is working toward educating them for national competitions but both ponies are young and untried so it is hard work. Katrine hopes on day to participate at international competitions again. She would like to continue to work with younger ponies as well as continue to be able to compete at FEI-level. Katrine is growing rapidly, so she is also soon ready for U-18 competitions on horse.

Katrine's ponies:
Choco L'Amour is a German Westfalian sportspony by Charm of Nibelungen/ FS Pour L'Amour. He measures 148 cm and is imported from Germany in August 2012. Choco is 6 years old and a pony with lots of potential. He had not been under rider for very long when Katrine tried him the first time at Zeillinger Pferdesport in Emsbüren, where Asja Hüsing was owning and educating him. Choco is very rideable and has very nice movements. His movements are regular and correct, uphill and with nice hindlegs. Katrine is now working on educating Choco and preparing him for competitions. She tells that every time she rides him, it is a pleasure!

FS Cover Boy is a licensed stallion from Rheineland. Cover Boy is by FS Champion de Luxe/ Dressman I. He measures 148 cm. Cover Boy is imported from Germany in November 2012. Cover Boy had been stationed as a stallion and he has not been educated much. He is a very charming pony with nice movements with an exeptionally good canter. He is a pleasure to work with and is developing very positively. He is easy to handle and attracts much attention due to his charming stallion look.

Former ponies:
Højgårds Boli is a Danish Sports Pony (sire: Bolero) measuring  135 cm. Boli was Katrines soul-mate when she was at the Danish team in 2012 for the 138 cm ponies. Katrine got Boli in January 2011. Boli was meant to be the pony that Katrine could get some experience at FEI-level competitions with. However, the accomplishments of Katrine and Boli has exceeded all expectations! After few months of companionship, Katrine and Boli began participating in FEI-courses at a national level receiving prizes at alle the competitions they participated in. In 2011 they came in number 6 at the Danish Championship with only very little experience at this level of competetion, and also in 2011 they came in as number 3 in the ECCO Cup Finals which in Denmark is the most prestigious dressage competetion for ponies. In 2011 the two of them were also the most winning couple in the Copenhagen area and received a prize for this. In 2012, Katrine and Boli were elected for participation at the Northern Championship in Finland. In Finland, they won silver individually and gold in the team competition. Unfortunately, Katrine's legs kept growing, so Boli is now sold to a new rider and we follow the couple closely! Boli is an exeptional pony with an extreme work attitude as well as a personality that makes him part of the familiy and he continue to be so even though he now has changed home.

Churchill is a Danish Sports Pony (sire: Chamberlain) measuring 141 cm. Katrine loaned Churchill from his breeder and owner. Katrine was  fortunate enough to have Churchill here at Petersborg as her very own for 3 years. Churchill (nickname is Chili) is a very loveable pony. He is always ready to work and perform, and he is a real comrade at competetions: His young age and inexperience does not show, when he enters the arena! He is ready to perform, and he likes it! Katrine has educated Churchill herself and after almost 2 years of companionship and education the two of them were elected to represent Denmark at the Northern Championship in Finland (June 2012). However, an injury made this impossible, but the election was a a huge accomplishment for Katrine and she was very proud to be able to succeed with this "homemade" pony at such a high level!
